SEO… or Courtin’ the ’Bots
Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is the art of using semantic markup to structure the text and images that form your website. Done correctly, search engines will effortlessly and accurately categorize and index your pages. Reward comes in the way of higher search rankings.
Your web designer must adhere to evolving web standards and make every attempt to integrate those standards into the optimized code. The designer must strive to make your website viewable, comprehensible, and attractive no matter on what type of web enabled device it is displayed.
We practice informed SEO techniques by optimizing new web pages as they are designed. We start, but don’t end, with the html markup. HTML tags are used in context because they make sense in light of the content they are used to markup and not just as a way to force a block of text or an image into a more preferred position.
Positioning of content and images is handled with CSS -- Cascading Style Sheets. Great care is taken to separate semantic markup from positioning markup. The end result is a web page that is what they call “search engine friendly.†When Google (and many others) send their robot (bot) emissaries to visit your website, you can almost imagine our code offering its guests a warm and organized haven from the digital turmoil found on so many websites.
Making guests feel at home. We feel that kind of treatment towards everyone – family, friends, clients, and strangers – goes a long way towards making life a lot more enjoyable.
For the record, it’s important to note that all search engine optimization performed by WebCamp One is considered “white hat.†We do not, and will not, resort to “black hat†SEO tactics.
